This Indoor sports venue houses a 6700 seat multi-function arena designed primarily for basketball and gymnastics. This program also consists of a 1500 seat 12 lane racing pool, dive platforms, handball court, fitness center, ballroom and cultural facilities that cater to restaurants, retail, and daycare. The Aerodrome was developed to be distinctive yet harmonious with the surrounding sports campus. The roof shape is curvaceous, streamlined and efficient, creating dramatic space by spanning over multiple sports venues in the most economical way. The structure, made of an expressed diagrid, results in a strong shell that is thinner and lighter than more conventional truss structures. It also represents the longest structural clear span in Korea.
