The project is a 10,700 sm long-term acute care + rehabilitation hospital. It is part of a new strategic campus plan that will serve multiple healthcare facility clients/patients in North San Diego, California. The design of the hospital features dramatic cantilevered program elements to inspire patients by creating an optimistic and challenging architectural composition to promote hope + healing through transformational design. The design aesthetic reinforces an institution that implements the latest technical advances in medical practice including equipment, technology, wireless infrastructure, EMR, patient education, prosthetics, and rehabilitation equipment.
