Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City is an enormous green, walkable, world-class healthcare district at the heart of Qatar's capital city Doha. It is an urban community for health/wellness and a place to heal, work, discover, learn, live, relax and rejuvenate. It is envisioned as a destination/launching pad for medical/ scientific research and a platform for 21st Century Qatar to meet the world. The overall architectural design for the new HMC Trauma Center showcases a high-quality civic image within the context of HMC's masterplan vision. The design is simple and elegant utilizing natural travertine with contrasting white metal panel and glass elements. A unique design attribute is a large cantilever roof located on the southwest corner of the building. It is visually dramatic and results in a sustainable design feature benefiting mechanical requirements for visitor comfort.
